When I asked the 3-year-old class why we call that day "good," one child responded, "Because God did great things for us!" Amen!
Praise the Lord for the forgiveness of sins that He gives us through His one and only Son, Jesus Christ! As we read God's Word in the Bible: “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
And every time we look at the cross and the great sorrow there, we can also look ahead to that glorious Sunday morning when Jesus' tomb stood open and empty. We remember the angel's words on that day, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." (Matthew 28:5-6)
May this Holy Week and especially this Easter weekend coming up be a time of great joy and encouragement for you as you reflect on victory and life that is ours in Christ, as you see your son or daughter grow at Trinity, and as you also grow as God's child in faith.
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
| As we learned about Palm Sunday, students created palm branches to wave as they shouted "Hosanna!" |
| Students had the opportunity to get their feet "washed" as we learned about Jesus washing His disciples feet. |
