Construction Zone!

A big THANK YOU to all those who have already given and lent materials for our new unit.  The students are already enjoying many aspects of "construction" in the classroom by stacking, hammering, and cooperating together.  

Joyful Songs

Psalm 100:2 says, "Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs."  Thanks to another parent who donated a collection of percussion instruments, the students are able to enjoy a music center at preschool.  They can experiment with the different instruments and the different sounds they make, play along with songs on a CD, make their own original songs, or march around the room like a parading band.  They are very good at making "joyful songs."  

Our New Arrival :)

We were blessed with the addition of a new little member to our classroom.  One of the families donated this new baby doll to the preschool.  Depending on which class you ask, the baby has different names.  :)

Sweet Dreams!

The 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes enjoyed sporting their "jammies" to school this past week.  We also made sheep and practiced counting them - assuring us all a good night's sleep!  :)

Playing in the snow!

The rest of this week, we will probably play inside.  However, next week, if the temperatures are warm enough, we will try to go outside and play some in the snow.  Please send your students' "snow gear" (hats, gloves/mittens, and snow pants and boots) with him/her to school next week!    Also, please remember to bring back the photo-permission form and I will try to get some more photos posted! 

Snow Day!

We have a snow day today, Tuesday, January 11, 2011  (1-11-11)!  I hope everyone is safe and warm!   While you're home, if you want to go on a Zz hunt in your house, practice writing your name, draw a zoo and count the animals, or build a zoo for your toy animals, those would be great ways to have fun and learn too!  

Reminders this week: 

Thursday is Pajama Day for the 3s!

Thursday is also "Crazy Day" for the PreKs and the rest of the school.  There will also be a teacher exchange on Thursday afternoon and Mrs. Moeller will teach the PreK students from 2:00-3:00 while Miss Meyer teachers the 2nd and 3rd graders.

Our December Bulletin Board

The preschool was in charge of creating a December bulletin board for the board upstairs across from the 4th and 5th grade students' classrooms, by Pastor's office.  Here's the final product!
