Our new unit is looking at growing and changing around us. One new favorite game is called "The Butterfly Game." In this game, students go through the metamorphosis of a butterfly. The game leader calls out, "Egg!" Students drop into an "egg" shape. Then, "Caterpillar!" The students start to wiggle. At "Chrysalis!" the students freeze in a long chrysalis-type form. Then, "Butterfly!" The students stretch their "wings" and fly around the space. Though this game is best enjoyed in the bright spring sunshine on a warm grassy field, here is a photo of the students having a good time with the game in the parish hall on one rainy afternoon.
