Swimming at the "Y"

Parents,

Please remember that we plan to walk to the YMCA on Tuesday, Sept. 27th (3s and PreK) and Wednesday, Sept. 28th (4s).  Please make sure your student is wearing his/her swimsuit, has good walking shoes, and has a change of clothes in his/her backpack for when we get out of the pool. 

And please pray that this will be a great time of fun and learning for everyone! 

Genesis 3

This week, our Bible lesson was about the fall into sin recorded in the Bible in Genesis 3.  The 4-year-old and PreK students had the opportunity to act out the story using the school's stage and some old props from the 1st graders spring play last year. :) 

This is a sad story, but it also contains the first promise of a Savior.  This is one of many, many promises that were all kept through our Lord Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection! 

Library Visits

We are blessed to have a librarian visit us from Boone's Ericson Public Library once a month this year for each class!  The public library is a great resource for books and other learning materials and events, so be sure to stop by sometime if you haven't yet! 

Enjoying Centers

The first part of each day at preschool is "center time."  During this time, students are able to choose from a number of different activities and areas of play.  There are often special projects going on during this time as well where students will be brought to a table individually or in small groups to work on art projects or mini lessons.  Here are a couple photos from recent centers.

The girls are putting together collages by cutting and gluing from magazines and catalogs.

 The boys are working hard with the tools from the tool bench.

 Students get to be artists and enjoy using the easels for their masterpieces.

Shapes All Around

In preschool, we have been working on some basic shapes:  circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.  One day we did a shape hunt to find shapes that were hidden around the classroom.  Then we did the "hokey pokey" song with the shapes.  We also talked about some things around the room that were different shapes.  The door is a rectangle, the clock is a circle, etc.  Maybe you can go on a shape hunt at home as well!  How many shapes can you find around your house?
